Owner, Dorato Capital Mangement, LLC

Steve started Dorato Capital Management, LLC in April 2000 in order to provide separately managed stock accounts for individual clients, and to provide a level of service typically not available from a mutual fund company. He started with two accounts and has added accounts and assets every year.

Prior to founding Dorato, Steve managed domestic and international mutual funds as well as institutional portfolios at Meridian Investment Management. Steve was also responsible for overseeing the firm’s quantitative valuation models. Before joining Meridian, he worked for several public sector agencies, including the Denver Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and the Maine Office of Comprehensive Planning.

Steve spent two years in the Peace Corps in Molepolole, Botswana, teaching mathematics and coaching volleyball and chess. He attended Stanford University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Steve later received his Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University. He has earned the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP ™), and Enrolled Agent (EA).
